Our projects seeks for donation to build a website and software to handle and analyse big data.

DATA IN PRACTICE is a not-for-profit organization based in Kenya. The main goal is to use big data to solve development challenges facing Africa in critical areas such as agriculture, health, urban planning, wildlife conservation, and climate change. We collect big data, clean, analyze, and publish. More importantly, the findings are presented in workshops, conferences, and one-on-one to our partners to inform policy so as to shape the development agenda in Africa.

The infrastructure to run our operation includes an office, desktop computers, laptop, cloud (to handle big data), a website, email accounts, etc.

We partner with public and private institutions including government agencies, universities, private companies to access and collect data and to implement research findings.

The organization engages volunteer fellows to carry out big data analytics in the cloud whose results will shape government policies as well as guide development partners in the funding of projects in Africa. The Volunteer fellows actively look for grants to fund various projects in their respective fields of research. Once funding is secured the volunteer fellows get contract fellowship tied to funding duration.
