Project description:

We believe that for donors to make informed decisions on which charitable causes to support, they should have open access to information about the financial status and operations of charities. Currently, while many charities do publish such information in their financial statements and annual reports, they are not easily accessible to the ordinary donors, who might lack the financial expertise or time to analyse the reports. 

Our project aims to fill this gap by developing a website that presents the spending and income-generating activities of charities in Singapore in an accessible and meaningful way, so that ordinary donors can better understand the operational needs of various charities and assess the impact that their donations may create. Our goal is to connect charities with genuine financial needs to donors who want to maximise the social impact with their dollar. 

Our project group comprises 6 members who will be analysing the financial statements of various charities, and conduct interviews with them to further understand their operations. To build and design the website, we are looking for:

• A coder who can work with us to develop a platform for organising and analysing the data collected. 
• A website designer who can design professional webpages, and also advise us on matters such as updating and hosting of the website.
