We are seeking a developer to join the Autism Communication Tools team!
Project overview:
Something Bothers Me is an iOS app aimed at giving children who find speech difficult a quick and effective way to tell others what is bothering them. This app offers children an easy way to pinpoint what is bothering them. It also lets the adults know what’s wrong and respond to the problem rather than ask a screaming child what’s the matter.
The app allows users to send a notification. The notification will have a time and date stamp so parents and teachers can look for patterns and plan ahead.

Hi Jyoti,
Thanks very much for your reply! We sincerely appreciate your enthusiasm, but at this time we are specifically seeking a developer with iOS experience. Thanks again, and if you do happen to know anyone with this experience we’d love to hear from them. Best wishes, the ACT group.

Hi there! I’m interested in helping out. Can you share a bit more about the existing team and where the app will ultimately be deployed and used?

Hello! This is a project of the Pryor Foundation, a pro bono 501(c)(3) corporation devoted to innovative approaches to shaping behaviors with positive reinforcement. The app will be sold through Apple’s app store and promoted through networks providing services to people with autism spectrum disorders and other developmental disabilities. Their website is http://www.thepryorfoundation.org.
From the Pryor Foundation the team includes: Lynn Loar, Ph.D., President; Libby Colman, Ph.D., AV Coordinator; and Karen Pryor, Vice President, who are all experienced subject matter experts. Libby is the illustrator for the app, and Lynn is the primary representative of the Pryor Foundation both for the app’s subject matter, and for the app generally.
On the development side, I’m building the app. While I have some experience with Swift, I’m looking for someone with more experience than myself to help implement the specific functionality in the project description. Thanks for your interest!
