Guidr: Connecting mentees to mentors to create better relationships and a better future. .

Nowadays, almost every youth individual has envisioned a path for themselves, one that would fulfill their interests and desires. At the edge of the path is often what success means to them. However, it is through the correct navigation of that path where an individual will find success, and a mentor, who is often someone who already went down that path and gained experience as a result, is an incredibly vital resource that retains an opportunity to aid with navigation to goals. Mentors also help with the personal development of an individual. Not only do they have the experiences of going through the process, they also retain the memory of their psychological encounters and as a result, can help mentees overcome the same encounters. Overall, mentors can intimately guide a mentee to their desired goals. The relationship between a mentor and mentee is incredibly pivotal towards creating change and making a better tomorrow.

This is where Guidr comes in, proving a medium for Mentees and Mentors to connect. Guidr will serve as a mentor matching tool that will connect mentors and mentees with the same interests, and will allow mentees to get significant advice. Mentors and Mentees will be matched using a simple algorithm that runs based on different tags that users choose. The connection will be a one click action, followed by engagement in a chat room, in which both users can use the integrated Calendly API to schedule a meeting around the Mentor’s professional schedule, as well as the Mentee’s schedule. Overall, this solution will allow for Mentors to help Mentees around their professional schedules and it will also allow Mentees to be easily familiar with the social media oriented web-app due to their own backgrounds with social media consumption. It will be intuitive and easy to use for them while being incredibly efficient for the Mentors.

• Open web standards technologies, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, including Node JS, Next JS and Express.
