I have a vision – and a plan – to help ease the burden of food stress, exacerbated by Covid.  I need your help to bring the vision to life!

Neighborhood food drives help the community and make donors and collectors feel good – that they’ve made a positive impact.  Why don’t they happen more often?  Because they’re cumbersome to plan and execute.  

I am designing an app that makes food drives easier.  Easier food drives mean more food drives.  And more food drives mean more relief of food stress.

Key functionality

• Food Drive Leaders, Donators and Community Orgs (i.e., beneficiaries, such as a Food Bank) register in the app
• When a critical mass of Donators are nearby a Food Drive Leader, the app prompts the Leader to initiate a Food Drive
• Food Drive lifecycle (leveraging the app’s functionality): 1) Leader selects a Food Drive day and time, 2) Leader invites Donators to participate, 3) Donators RSVP yes/no, 4) Donators place item on front porch by specific day and time, 5) Leader picks up donations, 6) Leader drops off donations at a local community org (e.g. Food Bank)
• At registration, Donators specify how frequently they would like to donate.  After a donation, they will not be invited to another Food Drive until they are again “due” based on their preferred frequency

I am looking for a iOS developer (coder) to join our team and bring the app to launch.  I currently have a user experience designer on the project – his scope is creating the look/feel/layout of the individual app screens; his deliverable to the developer is the full set of designed assets.  I see the developer scope as coding all of the functionality to bring the app’s features to life.  My role going forward is to continued overall project vision and leadership and all marketing activities.  Post-launch, I’ll continue to manage the app.
