My friend an I have been working unpaid for 3 years on a project we really believe in, which has a system wide social change vision – to connect neighbours and communities in meaningful ways, and create an innovative new way for charities and community projects to get the funding they need to thrive at the same time.
Dignity platform is a local skills market place; you can search for any local skill or service you need. Instead of paying them, they volunteer their services to you and you donate the money to charity.
Our launch partner charity is the spellbinding Real Junk Food Project – for me, one of the most profoundly inspiring organisations in the world, and I really hope by the end of this year we can raise thousands for them without they having to fork out money or time they need for other things. Meanwhile we hope to connect hundreds of locals in meaningful 1-1 encounters (gigs) helping each other with tasks and services.
We’ve built our platform upon ShareTribe (written in Ruby on Rails and self-hosted on Digital Ocean) and we just have a handful of issues and features which our junior software dev is unsure how to tackle. We would love someone super experienced to see if they can help us with these final bits, then we can finally launch to the world after 3 years of dreaming, planning and research and development.
One of our main challenges is around how to restructure some of the interface and chat / payment functionality.
Please do get in touch if potentially interested!
Thank you
