The returned.org app is a tool for real-time communication between law enforcement and laboratories that analyze trafficking victims’ DNA. Once a victim is identified, or a relative comes forward with information, officials upload a digital ‘ID Card’ to begin the process of DNA sampling. These profiles are then used by the lab to cross-reference genetic matches to relatives and track the DNA analysis status.
