Hello, my name is Ayomide.
My introduction to technology directly coincided with the ending of my pursuit of medicine. As I studied for the medical school entrance exam (UCAT), I found myself fixated on the decision making section of the exam. Finding patterns to solve logical problems and then refining those techniques to optimise my timings. I unconsciously applied these same principles into all the technology I was using, notably, exam preparation interface. For the first time I found myself questioning ‘why?’.
I have been in a coding Bootcamp called The School of Code for 3 months now, where upon completion I will be full stack JavaScript developer. In this time, I have encountered a range of frameworks and practices these include: React.js, Node.js, PostgreSQL, HTML, CSS, and Git.
I am willing, adaptable, and flexible with a strong work ethic. I was able to hone my time management skills and attention to detail. As a young, second-generation black immigrant woman, I truly believe I can offer unique insight, perspective, and a positive, collaborative attitude to the project.
As well as my addition to the team, I hope these projects will aid in my immense personal growth and career development. Having the opportunity to be a part of this amazing initiative will equip me with the skills required to embark on that journey.
