Hello, my name is Hiroki Kato and I am a student at the Flatiron School studying in the full-stack development bootcamp program and currently am looking to help my community and find opportunities to donate my time and energy with impactful non-profit organizations. I believe that the traits I would use to describe myself—collaborative, curious, and analytical—make me a successful candidate for many of the projects and volunteer opportunities organized by donate:code.
The experience I’ve gained through Flatiron School positions me as an agile, coachable self-starter who can quickly pick up coding languages and design patterns, as evidenced on my GitHub; in complement, my experiences as an educator and as an analyst allow me to ask probative questions, tailor approaches, and bring concepts to fruition. I’ve honed my critical thinking skills through years of process investigation, data synthesis, and business system reviews including root cause/corrective action performance. I’ve also shaped and implemented scalable, reproducible plans that promote consistency while allowing for individual customization.
From a soft skills perspective, I excel at cross-functional interface, and I modify my approaches to effectively communicate at all organizational levels. I frequently switch between serving as a learner, peer, mentor, or leader. Perhaps most importantly, I seek to truly understand client objectives and translate them into mutually satisfying outcomes—a discriminating skill in a testing and development environment. In all projects that I undertake, I demonstrate accountability and attention to detail.
Although I may come across as a less traditional or experienced candidate, I’m hardworking, innovative, collaborative, and a committed team player with the aptitude to succeed. If you are willing to discuss possible ways I can help, please contact me at at hirokikato1@gmail.com. Thank you for for the service your provide to our non-profit sector and thank you for your time and consideration.
