Hello, my name is Chris and I’ve been a software developer since graduating college in 2008. I will be taking time off work for the foreseeable future, and would love to contribute a portion of that time to meaningful projects. I enjoy collaborating with technical and not technical people, understanding why a project is being worked on, and providing solutions.
Please checkout my LinkedIn for my full work history, but in brief it is:
2019 – 2020 Shoppies.co
Shoppies was a small startup with the goal of allowing social network creators to customize, create, and sell branded makeup. The company had five total employees, including three software developers, one designer, and a CEO. We developed a website where creators could select what makeup products to sell, create their designs, and monitor their sales. The website was built using React.js, and Node.js.
2014 – 2018 Uber Technologies
Uber Technologies is a large tech company focused primarily on ride sharing and food delivery. I worked on various teams and products during my time at Uber, primarily as a backend developer, but I also did some website frontend work. We worked in various programming languages such as Python, Go lang, and Javascript.
2012 – 2014 CarRentals.com (part of Expedia Inc)
CarRentals.com is a website that allows customers to book car rentals. It is owned by Expedia, but operated independently. The company had approximately 20 employees, with a software developer team of about 5-10 employees. I worked primarily on the backend using Java, but I did some website work using JQuery.
2008 – 2012 Lockheed Martin
Lockheed Martin is a large defense contractor. I worked with a team of about 20 engineers building missile defense systems. I built both frontend and backend systems using the programming language Java
I also support a local seniors tennis club where I have built a tool allowing them to generate schedules based on player and court availability.
