I I am a web developer driven by learning, trying new things, and meeting different people, although finding new challenges drives me the most. I was born and raised in Brazil, and when I got to college and the time to choose a career, I found myself picking between a career as a civil engineer and information systems. I chose civil engineering because at that time I thought it fit me better.
However, my highest point in college was computer science. I learned the ideas behind computers and the internet so I went on to pseudo coding and C++. It was the first time in college that I got so interested and excited about a subject. Computer science created a flame of curiosity for a new world and also created doubt about what really fit me.
Still, I finished my Bachelor’s in Engineering and started pursuing a career in the field as I planned. I was working at one of the biggest companies in Brazil, about to be hired as a junior civil engineer and had 2 associates degrees and a bachelor. I am really grateful for all the experiences, people, and knowledge that I acquired in college and the internships. But I still felt I wanted more so I decided to move to the US to have new experiences, challenges and really find my fit.
The US made me realize that I love building things, I am just building differently now. I truly can say I found my path and my home here.
My skills are Ruby on Rails, JavaScript, HTML, Git, Github, CSS, and I am excited to continue learning and using these as a student and as a new web developer.
