Hi! My name is April Chilldres.
I am a recent UX Design graduate from Kenzie Academy, and I have been self-teaching/learning how to code by app tutorials, code challenges (CodePen, 100Days Challenges) Udemy courses, YouTube videos, and other online resources.
I began my journey with design in June 2019 when I discovered an app called Career Karma, which literally changed my life for the best. I have always been a creative person and a problem solver. It is my true passion in life to help others succeed while learning new things in the process. It is a win-win situation where everyone can be happy!
I am a 41-year-old single mother with 2 daughters ages 18 & 8, and I spent many years of my life trying to please my mother by working in areas of her “approval” so to say. I spent many years in and out of college, attended nursing school, all to realize that it never felt right. The day I decided to live for myself and do things I am passionate about was the best day of my life, and I have never been happier.
I am now more ambitious than ever and I wish to help others in the tech industry in any way possible. The tech community has by far been the most welcoming, encouraging, and supportive group of professionals I have ever encountered, and I want to pay the kindness forward.
I am in the process of building my portfolio.
