Vortex Jazz is a London-based live jazz music venue that has had to close its doors due to COVID-19. The club is a non-profit, run by volunteers, with the aim of increasing access of the public to live jazz music and increasing participation of harder-to-reach groups with live music, through its Charitable foundation. www.vortexjazz.co.uk
In order to adapt, survive and flourish, Vortex is looking to commence live streaming of its considerable gig archive, as well as looking to stream close-door gigs. This is vital for its survival, as live music venues will be unable to open in the UK for an unknown period of time. Not only will this project support a live music venue, but also sustain a community of musicians who have no avenue to work and who are financially at risk.
We are presently streaming archived content for free, with a voluntary donation mechanic, but require the specialist skills of a volunteer who can guide us on how to better use our website and social channels to grow our audiences and gain greater engagement to our content.
We have identified the following needs:
– paid-for social marketing strategy
– SEO optimisation
– website and social analytics
– User Experience to guide digital architecture
– Build a new website that can incorporate streaming platforms – that incorporates UX. We are looking to create a website that can include new functionality in terms of being able to take payment process, have a streaming platform, accommodate an e-commerce shop for a subscription model for streaming content. We are likely to list this as a separate project but are inviting expressions of interest from volunteers for this part of the project.
– Payment processes for donations
We are looking to commence immediate work on this project and would be able to assign a dedicated led to work with you on the project. We are able to give you autonomy to guide and lead an organisation on how to monetise a sound archive through live streaming.
Thanks for your interest.
